Nine months and 65 days of information-gathering throughout the European Union, Bulgaria, Romania, Turkey and Norway: that’s the programme of the awareness-raising campaign on the social responsibility of enterprises (SRE), organized by the Commission in collaboration with Eurochambres (the Union of European Chambers of Commerce) and UEAPME (the Union of small and medium businesses), and inaugurated in Brussels on 12 October. The campaign is aimed at informing the over 25 million small and medium businesses (95% of European firms) about policies and good practices in terms of SRE. The aim is to help them adopt the minimum standards necessary for the contribution of firms to sustainable economic growth and social cohesion through a higher rate of protection of workers and the implementation of company policies aimed at promoting the contribution of each individual firm to social life.
