More quantity and quality in information” “

“The European Union communicates little and badly”, said – not for the first time – the Vice-President of the European Commission Margot Wallstroem, in presenting a Resolution to the European Parliament with the aim of contributing to the revival of the strategy of communication in the EU. The EP approved the Resolution by a large majority in the course of its plenary session in Strasbourg last week. The Resolution emphasises the need to inform citizens more and better about the activities of the European institutions. In particular, it recommends that “knowledge of the EU and its institutions form a subject to be included in the school curricula of member states”. The institutions in Brussels are also asked to “clearly and objectively inform citizens about the content and significance of the Constitutional Treaty”.
