Germany: Schoenstatt Movement commemorates John Paul II ” “

“In Grata Memoria”: that’s the title of the document commemorating John Paul II issued in recent day by the Apostolic Movement of Schoenstatt. “His fostering of the ecclesial movements as fruit of the Spirit and springtime of the Church – says the document – calls us to keep alive the particular charism we have each received and to place it at the service of the whole ecclesial community”. Father Heinrich Walter, President of the international Council of the Schoenstatt Movement, in his message (see www.schoenstatt.de), recalls the moral authority of the Pope, his preferential love for the young, and his ability to communicate the Gospel. “His determination to serve never yielded and, in spite of his illness and weakness, he went out in search of everyone, especially the poor and the needy. He drew no distinctions between people, nor did he let himself be persuaded by opportunism or convenience. He gave value to every culture and was able to praise it, while at the same time denouncing its errors and pointing out its dangers. In all this he showed his paternal benevolence and respect”.
