Belgium: a dvd for vocations” “

To respond to the grave crisis of vocations, the Catholic bishops have produced a DVD to present “the profession of priest” to young people aged between 15 and 25. The film, with the title “Priest today… why not?”, last for 30 minutes and is aimed at “presenting the life of the priest – explains a communiqué of the Belgian Church – shorn of all cliché and caricature”. The bishops know in fact that the young today meet few priests and especially few young priests. The average age of the clergy in Belgium is 70. In the DVD, priests, bishops and seminarians respond to a series of questions posed by the young themselves, about formation, celibacy and the daily life of the priest. The film will be diffused from 17 April on, on the occasion of World Day of prayer for vocations and distributed in French-speaking parishes and dioceses in the country.
