Germany: Easter triduum on the internet” “

Some 12,000 communities are participating in the on-line ecumenical service offered by the Evangelic Church (EKD) and by the German Catholic Church, which provides information on Masses and other church services from Holy Thursday to Easter Monday on the website www.ostergottesdienste.de. The service, which has already been available for several years, has been progressively improved with new information: “we have improved the on-line service thanks to the input of our users”, said Gunda Osterman, editor in chief of the Catholic portal katholisch.de who, together with Tom O. Brok, director of the internet office of the EKD and editor of the portal of the Evangelic Church , is running the service. “This year, in fact, for the first time, information is being given for those with hearing disabilities and the wheelchair-bound”. The web page has also changed its look. The great success of the project is testified by the visits to the site www.weihnachtsgottesdienste.de, a similar on-line service set up for Christmas 2004, with over 65,000 ‘hits’.
