Humanitarian aid for Africa” “

The European Commission last week approved the allocation of 80 million euros for the funding of humanitarian measures in favour of the victims of the long-term crisis from which the countries of African are suffering. The management of the resources will be assigned to ECHO, the EU office for humanitarian aid, in collaboration with the various NGOs accredited in the various regions of the African continent. The interventions are divided into four areas: West Africa (Liberia, Guinea, Ivory Coast), for a total of at least three million beneficiaries; Northern Uganda, where there are an estimated one and a half million displaced persons; Burundi, for which the priorities are nutrition, psychological support and the supply of drinking water; and Tanzania, where some 400,000 people are still totally dependent on humanitarian aid.
