The approval of a statement with a view to the forthcoming referendum for the ratification of the European Constitution, due to be held on 20 February, the approval of the norms regulating the Library of Christian Authors, and the study of a scheme for a reflection on economic globalization: these are just some of the issues that will be discussed during the meeting of the permanent Council of the Spanish Episcopal Conference, now underway (Madrid, 3-4 February). Also on the agenda are the examination of the translation, introduction and notes of the interconfessional Bible and the approval of the theme of the next plenary assembly of bishops to be held from 11 to 17 March 2005. The individual episcopal commissions, as usual, will report on the realization of the pastoral plan.
