A so-called discoforum to listen to music and exchange views on such major youth issues as love and friendship, solidarity, peace, heaven and earth, work and the future: the project is the joint brainchild of www.giovani.org, the site of the Forum of Italian Catholic youth centres, and www.gmg2005.it, the portal of World Youth Day in Cologne (August 2005), promoted by the Service of the Italian Bishops’ Conference (CEI) for youth ministry. “The project explain its promoters is intended as a way of deepening faith and the great values of man and is also a valuable help in the process of preparation for the 20th WYD. The idea arose in conjunction with the project for the production of 8 monothematic CDs with the finest songs of recent years to be issued coupled with the weekly magazine ‘Famiglia cristiana’. It is a publishing project with the name ‘I colori della vita’ (Colours of Life). Each CD is accompanied by a 12-page brochure containing the texts of all the songs and an introductory comment assigned to a personality from the religious or cultural world”. The staff of giovani.org, apart from publishing the whole plan of the project on the internet, has opened a forum in which the young may exchange views on major themes proposed by the 8 CDs: love and friendship, travel, solidarity, peace, heaven and earth, work, future and a miscellany that goes under the name of “rainbow”.
