Internal security” “

The European Commission has adopted a reform of the sector of justice, liberty and security to improve the internal security of the Union and facilitate legal circulation. The series of measures adopted by the Executive include a “Communication on the reinforcement of the efficacy and pooling of European data banks in the sector of justice and internal affairs and on the creation of synergies between them” and a proposed decision on the system of visas (VIS), aimed at improving cooperation between the national and European authorities (Europol and Eurojust) to increase the already high level of internal security in force on the territory of the European Union. The Communication also evaluates the possibility of adopting new measures, such as the creation of a kind of passport for those who frequently cross the external frontiers of the Union for professional purposes and the feasibility of an automated system of criminal identification through fingerprints (AFIS).
