The Consistory of Paris and the Catholic Church will celebrate together the 40th anniversary of Vatican II’s Declaration on the Relation of the Church to Non-Christian Religions “Nostra Aetate” on Thursday 20 October. It’s a document that marked a fundamental stage in closer relations between Jews and Christians. This is the first time that French Jews and Catholics are promoting such an event together. The ceremony will be held in the cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris. It will be officiated by Moïse Cohen, president of the Consistory of Paris, David Messas, Chief Rabbi of Paris and the Most Rev. André Vingt-Trois, archbishop of the city.
