Scotland: Eucharistic Congress in Glasgow” “

The Eucharistic Congress of the diocese of Glasgow is due to open on Saturday, 1st October. On that occasion, the archbishop of the Scottish city, Mario Conti, has invited all the faithful to join in prayer and adoration: “Saturday is an important day and a key moment in the celebration of the Year of the Eucharist in our diocese – he said –; it’s roughly a year we’ve been awaiting this congress that will include various events”. They include a Study Day in St. Mungo’s Academy, where over 300 participants representing the parishes of the diocese are expected, the hour of adoration in the church of the Blessed Mary and a series of seminars on various themes, but all linked to the Eucharist, the involvement of the laity and the Scriptures. “The Year of the Eucharist – concluded Archbishop Conti – calls the whole Church to renew itself and to re-affirm the character of the sacrament of the real presence of Christ in the tabernacle, in the life of the Church and in each Christian”.
