A hotline on freedom of circulation” “

The European Commission has activated a telephone line and an e-mail address that furnish information on citizens’ rights on immigration and freedom of circulation. The operators also explain the administrative procedures that need to be followed, explain the link between employment and residence permits, receive complaints and evaluate solutions. The service is called: European Citizens Action Service (ECAS) and has the task of pooling information received from individuals and organizations about the way immigration works in the EU. The hotline has been introduced a year after the enlargement of the Union. It develops a previously existing service whose results will soon be presented to the European Parliament. The hotline is available in English, French, German, Hungarian, Lithuanian and Polish. To contact it all you need to do is call 0032/2/548/0495 or send an e-mail to hotline@ecas.org. Further information on the hotline is available on the ECAS website http://www.ecas.org/hotline/2376/default.aspx?id=695
