A pan-European campaign against racism inside and outside football stadiums will be held from 13 to 25 October. It’s the sixth week of Football against Racism in Europe (FARE). “Fans, ethnic minorities and football clubs will all be united to demonstrate against discrimination”, explains the Internet portal dedicated to youth of the European Commission. “The basic idea is to give the chance to various groups through Europe write the organizers to tackle the problems of racism and discrimination within their clubs or their local communities”. Last year, over 33 countries supported the initiative, which this year includes among its main demonstrations actions against racism in the context of the UEFA Champions League being held in the same period”. The idea of the 2005-2006 season is to “launch an appeal so that actions be taken both inside and outside football stadiums to encourage and promote the involvement of immigrants and ethnic minorities at all levels of the game.
