France: WYD continues in Paris” “

After World Youth Day in Cologne, the archdiocese of Paris has decided to focus on youth by promoting a series of initiatives aimed at not squandering the enthusiasm that the WYD aroused in the Parisians who participated in it. The first of these ventures is a “Youth Guide”: 52 pages full of useful addresses, proposals and suggestions: parishes, hours of masses, volunteer services, chaplaincies, pilgrimages, movements of Catholic action, even communities for foreigners. “Diversity – says the introduction – forms the richness of the Church, people of God, and permits each person, according to temperament, to devote him/herself in the following of Christ”. Meanwhile, “Youth Day” will be celebrated in Paris on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 September. The archbishop, Andrè Vingt-Trois, in a pastoral letter, appeals to the whole diocese to participate so as “to donate the faith we have received to as large a number of people as possible, and in particular to the young”.
