An appeal for reflection “to find a way to create solidarity in society and especially between the Catholic and Muslim communities” has been made by the Catholic Association for Racial Justice (CARJ), in particular to its members, who met in recent days for their annual general assembly to review the work performed by the organization and plan its future. The association has also invited reflection “especially to understand the causes and future implications deriving from the terrorist attacks”, also in view of the approaching Racial Justice Sunday, a day of prayer and reflection on racism, planned for 11 September. CARJ was founded in England in 1984 to respond to the needs of ethnic minorities. The organization (http://www.carj.org.uk/) works in cooperation with the individual dioceses and promotes campaigns against racism.
