Turning Europe into an area that attracts investments and work, developing technological know-how and innovation, and creating new and better quality jobs: these are the main guidelines of the EU strategy for cohesion, development and work presented by the European Commission on 5 June. The aim of the strategy is to establish the priorities for the years ahead, which will have to be adopted by the Council and the Parliament of the EU. According to the Commission, future projects must be focused on development and work, not least to help member states to combat youth unemployment, also by increasing employment mobility between the states of the Union. The strategic guidelines also emphasize the need for coordination and cohesion between the decisions taken at the national and regional level.
