The Dutch youth who would like in the days ahead to add their names to the some 1,700 of their compatriots who have already long booked to attend the next WYD Day will be able to benefit from a genuine ‘last minute’ offer. The offer, which remains open until the eve of the event, comprises three options: participation in the whole week, in the last three days or merely in the concluding ceremony. The coordinator of the project, Roger Schols, emphasises that the “organized journey offers all the necessary guarantees, and promises a community experience that is particularly formative if it is shared with other youth”. Included in the package apart from the journey, which can be booked on the site , are all transfers, meals and entrance tickets for all WYD events. The record number of Swiss enrolments so far 1,7000 is higher than that of 2000, when some 1200 Dutch youth arrived in Rome. In view of the “last minute” bookings and the number of those who will go to Cologne under their own steam, the number of youth from the Netherlands who participate in the concluding celebration could rise to some 4,000.
