Innovation in the foreground” “

The annual conference of the CRI, Centres of contact for innovation, was held in Brussels at the end of June. A network of 71 agencies present both inside and outside the European Union, the CRI Centres were established in 1995 with a view to “favouring the international transfer of innovative technologies and promoting technological partnerships”. According to the European Commissioner for businesses, Guenther Verheugen, “the CRI network offers the over 25 million small and medium businesses in Europe the chance to play an essential role in overcoming the current stagnation in Europe, increase capacity for growth and close the existing gap between the EU and the USA in terms of innovation performance”. The CRI Centres act as intermediary, supporting firms in the reception of information, know-how, technologies, financing and assistance, as well as providing a valuable role in the search for partnerships and joint ventures. In ten years existence, the CRI network has directly contributed to over 12,000 negotiations for technology transfer, and provided services to some 55 million small and medium businesses. http://irc.cordis.lu ———————————————————————————————————– Sir Europa (English) N.ro assoluto : 1402 N.ro relativo : 51 Data pubblicazione : 06/07/2005
