The World Council of Churches has announced that a brochure entirely dedicated to the recent Porto Alegre assembly is now available (in PDF format, on the website www.oikoumene.org http://www.oikoumene.org ). The Porto Alegre Assembly brought together over 4,000 delegates from Churches all over the world in the Brazilian city. As WCC general secretary Pastor Samuel Kobia explained, “it proclaimed the start of a new era in ecumenical history, which will be characterised by growing attention to the spiritual strength of ecumenism”. The brochure – eight pages long – sums up the work of the Assembly. It also contains a résumé of the text of ecclesiology with the title, “Called to be one Church only”.
