Scotland: a Dvd against the “da Vinci Code”

A DVD to reject and discredit the ideas expounded in Dan Brown’s bestseller “The da Vinci Code”: that’s the project that the Scottish Catholic Church has adopted and assigned to the Professor of English Literature at the University of Glasgow, Patrick Reilly, the first Catholic professor at the university since the time of the Reformation. The DVD, which calls Brown’s ideas a “monumental nonsense” based on fall historical premises, will be distributed in the country’s 60 Catholic schools and 500 parishes. Its diffusion will occur concurrently with the presentation of the Hollywood film “The da Vinci Code” which is due to open the 59th Cannes Film Festival on 17 May. The film, directed by Ron Howard, has a star-studded cast including Tom Hanks, Audrey Tautou and Jean Reno. Produced by Sony-Columbia, it cost over 100 million dollars to make.
