Council of Europe: new technologies and cultural diversity” “

“May culture be a factor of generational conflict or is it on the contrary a means of preventing it?”. This was one of the questions posed by the participants at the Third Intercultural Forum of the Council of Europe, held at Bucharest (Romania) on 17-18 March. “After the forum in Sarajevo in 2003 and that in Troina in 2004, and a colloquium held in Strasbourg, numerous experts of culture and education” dedicated themselves “to the evolution of cultural differences between the generations in the new millennium. Another issue on the agenda – explain the organizers of the forum –was the role that may be played by the education of the young in cultural understanding and in the prevention of generational conflicts”. Meanwhile the spring session of the Congress of local and regional powers (15-17 March) has been held in the Palais de l’Europe in Strasbourg, seat of the Council of Europe founded in 1949. The main issues debated during the session were the new technologies (also in relation to youth education and training) and cultural diversity.———————————————————————————————————– Sir Europa (English) N.ro assoluto : 1461 N.ro relativo : 21 Data pubblicazione : 22/03/2006
