WCC: Coretta King, "an extraordinary woman"” “

“An extraordinary woman who lived an extraordinary life during an extraordinary time”: that’s how Samuel Kobia, general secretary of the World Council of Churches (WCC), described Coretta Scott King, wife of the American civil rights leader Martin Luther King, who died at the age of 78 on 31 January. “Thanks to the life of Coretta Scott King – said Kobia – the world is a better place. She leaves a great legacy and a challenge to us to work for an end of violence and hatred in our world”.
