Innovation: winners and losers” “

The “European Innovation Scoreboard”, a kind of chart table assessing the degree of innovation in Europe, an initiative of the European Commission’s Innovation Policy Development Unit, is now in its fifth year. It calculates the degree of innovation and future tendencies by assessing the data collected country by country on the basis of five indicators: innovation drivers, knowledge creation, innovation and entrepreneurship, applications and intellectual property rights. The final document, available on the website http://www.trendchart.org, divides European countries into four groups, depending on their performance in terms of innovation: leader countries (Switzerland, Finland, Sweden, Denmark and Germany); average performances: (France, Luxembourg, Ireland, UK, Holland, Belgium, Austria, Norway, Italy and Iceland); countries on the recovery (Slovenia, Hungary, Portugal, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Latvia, Greece, Cyprus, Malta); and countries losing ground (Estonia, Spain – in spite of a good position on the scoreboard in absolute terms – Bulgaria, Poland, Slovakia, Romania, Turkey). ———————————————————————————————————– Sir Europa (English) N.ro assoluto : 1443 N.ro relativo : 3 Data pubblicazione : 18/01/2006
