Germany: nocturnal pilgrimage for peace

The German Rural Catholic Movement (KLB) organized a nocturnal pilgrimage on 17 December. It began in the afternoon at Eichstätt and ended at the Bruder-Klaus-Kapelle at Inching with a brief meditation in the presence of the “Light of Peace from Bethlehem”, brought by a group of local scouts. The pilgrimage was intended to commemorate the compromise of Stans between State and Cantons, signed on 21 December 1481, thanks to the mediation of St. Nicholas of Flüe, patron of farmers. The pilgrimage was also held in preparation for Christmas.
