A reality show aimed at adolescents was transmitted by the television channel run by the Patriarchate of Georgia on 11 June. The title of the programme is “48 Hours” and was produced to give a Christian response to “those immoral youth programmes that propagate aggression and violence”. “48 Hours” is a show in which the contestants win not on the basis of elimination as in other reality shows but by pursuing fundamental values such as friendship, cooperation and solidarity. The television channel of the Patriarchate of Georgia relies solely on the funding of benefactors, as explained by its director Georghi Andriadze, who accuses the State of having refused the Orthodox television service to broadcast also outside the capital, Tbilisi.
