“It’s very dangerous to repudiate the values of Christianity, or deny the Pope’s right to teaching on such questions as abortion, euthanasia or the recognition of homosexual couples”, said the Right Rev. Bronislaw Dembowski, delegate of the Polish Bishops’ Conference for the pastoral care of religious associations and movements. The bishop was speaking during the third national Congress of religious organization, recently held in Warsaw. Evangelization in the age of globalization, the future of Christian communities, and the role of the laity in the Church were the main issues on the agenda of the Congress. Preparations over the last two years have permitted the exchange of testimonies and reflections between a huge audience connected by Internet, and by occasional meetings: “they mutually encouraged each other in a yet more intensive pastoral mission, often renewed in its many forms and expressions”.
