“Together towards Sibiu”, a spontaneous group of Christian associations, has produced an ecumenical aid to provide information on and encourage participation in the Third European Ecumenical Assembly (AEE3) due to be held in Sibiu (Romania) from 4 to 9 September. The “Ecumenical Kit” can be requested on the website: cipax-romalibero.it In March 2007 the Claudiana and Ellecidi publishing houses have meanwhile published a book on the Ecumenical Charter ( Charta Oecumenica ), edited by the Council of the Christian Churches of Milan and with an introduction by Msgr. Vincenzo Paglia, Bishop of Terni and chairman of the Commission for Ecumenism and Dialogue of the Italian Bishops’ Conference. It is expected that 2,100 official Catholic, Evangelical and Orthodox delegates will participate in EEA3; the allocation of delegates between the various Churches and nations was rigorously determined in joint consultations between the CCEE and the CEC. The Italian delegates comprise Bishop Paglia and Guido Dotti of the Bose Community (representing the Catholic Church), while the delegates of the Federation of Evangelical Churches will include Vivian Wiwoloku of the Methodist Church (Palermo-Nigeria) and Gioachino Fraenkel (Lutheran Church). Apart from Italy’s official delegates, there will also be 80 young stewards and a further 400 participants including staff, guests and journalists.
