CEC: consultation on mission

“Come Holy Spirit: heal and reconcile in Europe… Illuminate the whole of humankind with the light of Christ”: that’s the title of the consultation on mission throughout Europe that the Conference of European Churches (CEC/KEK) is holding in Budapest (Hungary) from 24 to 28 January. Some 60 participants from over 20 European countries will take part in the meeting representing Churches, national councils for mission and ecumenical networks. “This is an important opportunity for representatives of churches from across Europe to engage with the issue of mission. The Churches of Europe are constantly reflecting on how best to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ in the face of growing secularisation”, explains CEC general secretary Collin Williams. The four-day programme comprises plenary presentations, workshops, bible study and worship, with the aim of exploring more fully the implications of the themes of the 2005 Conference for World Mission and Evangelism, held in Athens.
