Inflation continues increasing in all member States. The latest November Eurostat report, published last week, confirmed this trend. The report registers a 3.1% annual inflation rate increase in the Eurozone (compared to 2.6% in October and 1.9% twelve months ago) which corresponds to an identical increase in the EU-27 (compared to 2.7% in October 2007 and 2.1% in November 2006). On the whole, the monthly inflation rate reached 0.5%. As relates to single activities, a yearly surge was registered in school-related expenditure (+9,4%), transportation, (+5,8%) and food (+4,3%), which was partly counterbalanced by a 1.8% increase of telecommunication services. In November, the lowest rates were those of The Netherlands (1,8%), Finland (2,1%) and Slovakia (2,3%). The highest were those of Latvia (13,7%), Bulgaria (11,4%) and Estonia (9,3%). On an annual basis, only Malta, France and Finland kept inflation within 1.5%.
