Slovakia: scouts from Europe trekking on the Carpathians

On August 1st, the day of the 100th anniversary of the first scouting camp organised by Lord Baden Powell on the Isle of Brownsea, in England, and the day on which at dawn all the scouts of the world will renew their promise, the Italian associations of Catholic guides and scouts of Europe will be getting ready for the meeting with Benedict XVI. To present all the events that have been planned for the centenary, the International Union of Guides and Scouts of Europe has announced a press conference in Rome on July 23rd. On that occasion, the federal commissioner of the Union, Jacques Mougenot, will present Euromoot, a gathering of about 5000 boys and girls from France, Romania, Poland, Spain, Belgium, Italy, Russia, Hungary, Slovakia, Germany, due from 4th to 11th August to commemorate the birth of Scouting and confirm the goodness of the scouting method through a travelling camp on the Tatra mountains (Carpathians), between Slovakia and Poland.
