The Faculty of Communications of the Pontifical University of Salamanca, together with the Spanish Bishops’ Commission of the media, are organizing two summer courses in communication. The first will be held from 2 to 6 July, for the pastoral animation of culture, and the second from 9 to 13 July on communication, education and the new technologies. The courses are aimed at assistants of social communication in the dioceses, vicars and journalists who are already working in the sector; they are intended to provide the necessary know-how in the field of social communication and boost permanent formation. The main speakers will include the Bishop of Jerez, Juan Del Rìo, who heads the Bishops’ Commission of the Media. A similar initiative, this time for seminarians, is being organized by the archdiocese of Granada; a course on how to announce the Gospel in the culture of communication will be held in Granada from 9 to 14 July. A session on use of the Internet and visits to the editorial offices of local papers and media are also planned. The course is being sponsored by the Commission for the Media of the Spanish Bishops’ Conference.
