Between October and November 2007, industrial production price index increased by 0.8% in the Euro-zone (which until December included 13 Countries) and by 1.1% in the EU-27. This index shows the variations in the different Countries of retail prices of all products sold within the different National markets, excluding durable goods. The data was issued by Eurostat, the statistics office of the European Communities, which points out that in the month of October prices had respectively increased by 0.7% and 0.9%. In November 2007, compared to the previous month, industry prices, excluding the energy sector, increased by 0.1% both in Euroland and in the EU. As for the prices in the sector of energy, Eurostat registered an increase respectively of 3.2% and of 3.9%. In both zones non-durable consumption goods increased by 0.3% while durable goods gained 0.1%. The highest increases are those of Lithuania (+2.3%), the United Kingdom (+2.2%) and Belgium (+2.1%). Decreases were registered in Luxembourg (-0,9%) and Ireland (-0,2%). In Cyprus the situation remained the same. Comparing data on the course of the year, from November 2006 to November 2007 industrial production prices underwent a 4.1% increase in the Euro-zone and a 4.2% increase in the EU.
