"Over the last few days I have seen so many normal, nice, noisy boys and girls who enjoyed being together and having fun. But they also felt the need to collect their thoughts in prayer, and fall on their knees before the Eucharist. Young people who have taught also us religious a lot of things". Brother Philipp Wagner, a thirty-six year old Dominican father from Mainz, coordinated the hospitality for the youth participating in the WYD at the spirituality centre set up by his Order in Cologne. About thirty brothers and just as many lay people, and more than 40 sisters from different countries have worked for ten days providing a service of spiritual assistance for a large number of youth in St. Andrew’s Church, not too far away from the Cathedral. "We have a precise programme which includes the liturgy of the hours, worship of the Eucharist, and the availability of the Brothers for talking and confession. Well, we have "worked" hard and we can say that this experience has been a positive one from all points of view. At times faith follows unexpected paths, through silence and chance encounters".
