"The Eucharist is the source of the community that the young must rediscover to strengthen their spirituality". This was said this morning, during the catechesis to the young Croatians who have arrived in Cologne for the XX WYD, by cardinal Josip Bozaniæ, archbishop of Zagreb and Deputy President of the European Bishops Conferences Council (Ccee). "Man looks for the Lord said the cardinal but in fact in Christ, God moves towards man. Jesus is the centre of it all: being with him means truly living. If you, young people, are on His side, you will build a better world". "God added Bozanic never ends surprising man with His love, but the young too with their faith and liveliness can positively impress the Church". At the end of the catechesis, cardinal Bozanic invited the young to ask a few questions. A boy said he feared Croatia’s accession to Europe might promote laicisation. "All through their history, Croatians answered the cardinal have always been united around the altar. If we keep being like that, we will certainly preserve our faith in the years to come".
