"We are determined to get closer to those who are distant from faith; this is why we always try to use the most straightforward ways, which include daily life, culture, day-to-day problems as well as music and play". The "Café de France" is the "French house" in Cologne for the XX WYD; what can be felt today is a deep vein of sadness for the death of frère Roger. For some days, young people from different cities along with a group of friars and nuns from different religious "families" have set up in Krefelder Strasse "a space open to everybody, as welcoming as possible, where one can spend time with other people, make oneself helpful, pray and listen to the witnesses of today’s faith". Frère Vincent Tierny, a Dominican friar, is 24 years old and is one of the promoters of the initiative. "Our association he explains is called Jubilatio and has been founded after the 1997 Paris WYD; the promoters include many laymen and Benedictine, Franciscan, Dominican and Capuchin friars. We wanted to join forces, to make our charismas meet into one and put them at the disposal of the people we meet every day and who are distant from Christ, offering our time with great simplicity". The daily schedule at the "Cafè" includes occasions for spirituality and debates with friars, theologians, bishops. Many are the occasions for entertainment offered by young people from all countries. "It is a simple way explains frère Vincent to live this WYD and share our faith with other boys and girls".
