” “Three thousand young people, from 20 nations from all over the world, met yesterday in Loreley, a place near the Rhine, to live together two days of prayer and communion in preparation for the central days of the WYD in Cologne. They are young Jesuits, religious women and lay faithful who are following a journey of Ignatian spirituality: for them the Company of Jesus and the Ignatian collaborators organised a week to live the WYD more in depth from 8th to 15th August. One of the participants Jimmy Bartolo from Malta explained: "This venue was given the title Magis–esperimenti ignaziani". In fact, Magis is a key word for Ignatian spirituality: it means more and, therefore, to experience Jesus". From 8th to 13th August the participants between 18 to 30 years of age, divided into groups, met in 11 German towns to follow different types of routes. "Some of us – said Jimmy have been on a pilgrimage; others have been involved in social service activities with the disabled or with people with psychological problems; others have shared with young people of other religions; others have been involved in creative work. We have all had a chance to dedicate a great deal of time to prayer". "During these days – added Mark Giurleo from Montreal (Canada) we are living days characterised by Eucharistic celebrations and by a festival of young people. We will arrive in Cologne on 16th by boat to share the crucial days of the WYD with young people from all over the world".
