WYD: THE PARISH CHURCHES OF FROSINONE CHIP IN TO HELP YOUNG PEOPLE GO TO COLOGNE

” “Parish churches that chip in to let the young go to Cologne at a lower cost that will not overrun their budget. This is what happens in the diocese of Frosinone-Veroli-Ferentino, where the bishop, Salvatore Boccaccio, asked every single one of the 81 parish churches of the diocese to make a donation to let young people go the World Youth Day "at a discount" instead of having to pay the full cost of the pilgrimage organised by the local diocese. The result: Mgr. Boccaccio will himself lead a diocesan delegation of approximately 80 boys and girls. "Thank you on behalf of the young", exclaimed Mgr. Boccaccio as he addressed the priests and defined this act of solidarity as a way to "strengthen and maintain the recovery of the young pastoral". As to the days of Cologne, a "daily online connection" with the diocesan website (www.diocesifrosinone.com) will be set up to supply news and information in real time from Cologne, enabling the congregation (including those who will stay in the diocese) to feel attuned to the young people who will be on a mission to the World Youth Day next August. In the meantime, the diocese of Frosinone-Veroli-Ferentino has been planning a pilgrimage to the Holy Land, led once again by the bishop, on August 1st to 6th.
