The suspension of European aids to the Palestinian Authority risks further aggravating the living conditions of Palestinians, 60% of whom live on less than 2,10 dollars a day. The alarm is given by the International Confederation of Development Agencies, Oxfam international. As everyone knows, on April 10th the EU Ministers met in Luxembourg and passed the temporary suspension of financial aids to the Palestinian Government led by Hamas, which had been decreed three days earlier by the Commission. "The lack of funds denounces Oxfam will further deprive the Palestinian population of health and school services, thus aggravating the economic conditions, already hit hard by the Israeli occupation". The decision of the EU, according to the Confederation, "also risks frustrating the significant changes made in the political life of Israel and Palestine after the recent elections which are an opportunity to move the peace process forward". To prevent all this, Oxfam asks "not to cut funds to the PNA, but redouble diplomatic efforts to face the humanitarian emergency and protect civilians".
