” “The pastoral instruction, “Theology and secularisation in Spain. Forty years after the closing of the Second Vatican Council”, in which the bishops warn against “deficient theological propositions”, such as “a merely sociological interpretation of the Church” and a “subjectivism objectivism in the area of ethics”, was presented yesterday. The text consists of four sections and in particular it rejects “a rationalistic conception of faith and Revelation” as well as an “immanentist humanism applied to Christ”. The text aims at “offering a word of guidance and wisdom before some doctrinal plans that exist within the Church, which have also caught on in Spain, upsetting the life of the church”. The bishops speak as “masters of faith” and therefore the pastoral instruction is to be seen as a form of guidance to put in place “the rich papal magisterium following the Second Vatican Council”.
