BENEDICT XVI AT THE ANGELUS: "WORKING HARD TO BUILD GOD’S DWELLING WITH MEN" (2)

"Getting ready for Christmas – explained Benedict XVI – means working hard to build ‘God’s dwelling with men’", and, in doing this, "no one is left out; everyone can and must help make this house of communion more spacious and beautiful. At the end of time, it will be completed and it will be the ‘heavenly Jerusalem’". Advent, added the Pope, "calls us to look at the ‘heavenly Jerusalem’, that is the ultimate goal of our earthly pilgrimage" and at the same time "urges us to commit ourselves, through prayer, conversion and good deeds, to welcome Jesus into our lives, to build with Him this spiritual edifice of which all of us, our families and our communities, are precious stones". Of all the stones that make up the heavenly Jerusalem, highlighted the Holy Father, "certainly the one that is brightest and most precious, because it is the closest to Christ the cornerstone, is the Most Holy Virgin": "Through her intercession – he concluded – let’s pray for this Advent to be for all the Church a time of spiritual edification, and may this speed up the coming of the Kingdom of God".
