With the invitation to admire the apse, "particularly decorated and lit on the occasion of the Feast of Saint Peter’s chair", Benedict XVI opened the audience in the Vatican basilica, which was attended this morning by 3 thousand Italian students from Collegio San Francesco in Lodi and Istituto Maria Immacolata in Rome. They were accompanied by many Spanish pilgrims. The Pope recalled that the lightning of the apse means to celebrate the Feast of Saint Peter’s chair, a feast that "urges us to feed our personal and community life on that faith which is grounded on the testimony of Peter and the other Apostles".
