” “The European Parliament is the focus of a three-day meeting on the Lisbon Strategy and foreign policy. A meeting is due today between the Assembly and delegates of the national Parliaments of the member states about the application of the Lisbon Agenda. The meeting will be attended by president Josep Borrell, the Council President on duty, Wolfgang Schüssel, and the Commission President, José Manuel Barroso. Tomorrow and Thursday, the EU Parliament will meet in Brussels. The most outstanding items on tomorrow’s agenda include a debate about the EU foreign policy, which will see the involvement of the Senior Representative of the Pesc, Javier Solana. The debate has been prompted by a report by the President of the Commission for Foreign Affairs, the German MP Elmar Brok, about the Middle Eastern scenario in the light of the Palestinian elections, the Balkans, relations with China and the development of the African continent.
