An appeal to the international community "to give clear and consistent proof of its mission", respectful of "the sovereignty of the people and nation of the Ivory Coast”: it copmes from the bishops of the Ivory Coast who in January wrote twice the latest message was sent one week ago to the population of their country and to the international community to ask them to restore peace after the riots and the fights that caused many victims and also involved some local UN delegates. The bishops recalled that "public spirit and patriotism are a duty for all the children of this Country" and that "such feelings can be expressed without violence or hatred" but they also regretted "the ambiguity of the international community": "The population they wrote , defeated and disheartened, is questioning the real mission of the international community in the Ivory Coast”.
