The recommendations given by the Holy See to the UN international conference that is in progress over these days (for two weeks) include "the definition of clear criteria on the export of arms” and "mechanisms to collect and destroy arms, as part of the peace processes”. In addition, the Holy See expressed strong support to the British proposal about the transfers of conventional arms. Mgr. Migliore then exhorted the rulers to "give clear proof of their political will" in educational schemes and in raising of awareness against the culture of violence.
