UKRAINE: WORKS GOING ON FOR THE DRAFT OF THE CATECHISM OF THE GREEK-CATHOLIC CHURCH

” “The conference about the draft of the Catechism of the Ukraine Greek-Catholic Church (Ugcc), "Christ is our Easter", is going to end tomorrow June 23rd in the rooms of the seminary of the Holy Spirit of Leopolis. The book, the purpose of which is to help strengthen the faith embraced at Baptism, is targeted to the congregation of the Greek-Catholic Church in Ukraine and in Diaspora. Its content is expected to reflect Christian faith as it used to be experienced over the 1000 years of the Kiev tradition. The Catechism drafting process has already covered the development of the conceptual grounds of the work, its approval by the Synod of the Bishops and the drawing up of the texts according to plan. The goal of these days’ conference is to disseminate the content of the unabridged text of the Ugcc Catechism. During the conference, the participants, who included theologians from several dioceses and Ugcc exarchates of Ukraine and abroad, are reviewing the content of the work so as to give a general assessment of it with comments and additions. The session is being attended by mgr. Pietro Stasiuk, bishop of the Greek-Catholic Ukrainians in Australia, New Zealand and Oceania, head of the Synodal Catechetical Commission, and mgr. Raffaello Martinelli, on behalf of the Congregation of the Doctrine of the Faith.” “
