The Eucharist is the "treasure" of the Church and "the Church guards it with utmost care": this was said yesterday by the Pope before the Angelus prayer, as he recalled that in Italy and in other countries it coincided with the feast of Corpus Domini. The scope of this "treasure", though, "is not fulfilled within the Church: the Eucharist is our Lord Jesus Christ giving Himself up ‘for the life of the world’. Anytime, anywhere, He wants to meet man and bring him the life of God". By bringing the Eucharist in the streets and in the squares, commented Benedict XVI, "we want to soak the Bread descended from Heaven into the routine of our lives; we want Jesus to walk where we walk, to live where we live. Our world, our lives must become His temple".After the Angelus prayer, the Pope mentioned that June 20th is the World Refugee Day, promoted by the United Nations. "It said the Holy Father aims to draw the attention of the international community to the conditions of so many people who are forced out of their countries by serious form of violence". "While I ensure they are remembered in my prayers and that the Holy See will never stop taking care of them concluded Benedict XVI I wish the rights of these people will always be respected and I ask the church communities to help them".
