It started just a few days ago, and yet the Germany World Cup is giving birth to a number of initiatives, some of which are really funny. Such as the one invented by father David Cain, a priest of the diocese of Nottingham, a Derby and England fan, who decided to open a "World Cup Chapel" in the Cathedral of Nottingham. Inside, along with the icons that are traditionally associated with the cult, there are also all the flags of the national teams playing in the World Cup. "The hope is that new faithful and visitors will come in", says the priest, according to whom "the World Cup is a great opportunity for communication among different peoples". Father Cain does not say too much when asked if he is going to pray for England. "I will pray that our players will not get hurt and for all the teams at the World Cup". He does not give his opinion about who is going to win the World Cup, but he commits himself when he has to suggest the patron saint of footballers, "I am not sure there’s a football saint already but otherwise Saint Mirren would do".
