ECUMENISM: CEC/KEK, IN 2008 A CONSULTATION FOR DIALOGUE BETWEEN ORTHODOX AND PROTESTANT CHURCHES, ANGLICANS AND OLD CATHOLICS

Steps forward in the dialogue between Orthodox and Protestant Churches, Anglicans and Old Catholics: at the meeting of the Churches in Dialogue Commission of the Conference of European Churches (Cec/Kek) that took place from June 8th to 12th in Tallin, Estonia, a work group has been formed to prepare a consultation about dialogue in 2008. Four areas have been identified for the documents and for further publications in support of the consultation: "measuring the potentials and interconnections of bilateral and multilateral dialogue; fixing criteria for measuring the progress made in the main theological topics in the existing dialogue; assessing the methods for dialogue; developing proposals for factual measures that may improve the process of reception by the Churches". "This new boost is welcome – commented Elizabeth Fisher, co-chair of the Commission -. We ask the Churches that are members of Cec to give all the support they can". Cec/Kek is a network of 125 Orthodox, Protestant, Anglican and old Catholic Churches across Europe plus 40 associated organisation.
