” “"Reconciliation is the core of the ecumenical vision and can be a source of unity between the churches and cultures". These are the words of Samuel Kobia, secretary general of the World Church Council (Wcc), in his address to the 19th World Methodists Meeting, which is closing in Seoul, Korea, today. "The most valuable gift that the Church can offer nowadays to the world said Kobia is to make people more capable of reconciliation. The ecumenical movement he added is at a turning point. The basic commitment is still the one that has led men and women to found the Wcc: working towards the unity of Christians, mission and evengelisation, education and training to discipleship, social work for justice and peace, dialogue with the contemporary world". The World Methodists Meeting is held once every five years and brings together over 500 delegates from 132 countries.” “
