EUROPE: SPIDLA (EU COMMISSION), "PROFESSIONAL MOBILITY WILL BENEFIT WORKERS AND COMPANIES". THE JOB SHOW (2)

” “"European citizens working abroad are now 2% of the total": the message sent by the EU with the Year of Professional Mobility is based on the benefits offered by a job market "without frontiers", the search for better job opportunities, the cultural and social exchanges that come with professional mobility. "The Job Show due in late September in Brussels and in other cities (including Helsinki, Marseille, Stockholm, Madrid, Copenhagen) – specifies commissioner Vladimír Špidla – aims at helping people discover such benefits". "Job tours" will be organised in Great Britain, while a travelling bus will carry the messages of the Job Show from Paris to Brussels from September 22nd to October 17th, stopping in several cities. "In this case, people will explain to the visitors the practical sides to moving and living in a country of choice", including the social security, schooling and health-care systems, which are interesting for the workers and their families. The EU Commission also launched a contest for professional mobility to give a prize to a worker, a company and a public body that will have a particularly interesting experience in this area. The prize will be awarded during the Year’s closing ceremony in France (city to be decided) on December 11th 2006.” “
